Job Description:

The Commercial Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company's strategic and financial objectives through robust financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. This role is ideal for a qualified management accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a proven track record in a commercial finance role, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth startup environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide regular variance analysis (actual vs. forecast/budget), delivering insights and recommendations to senior management on performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing strategies, and investment decisions.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to provide financial insights that inform decision-making.
  • Work with department heads to assess the financial impact of commercial decisions, including new product launches, customer acquisition strategies, and market expansion.
  • Conduct detailed revenue analysis, including customer lifetime value, pricing structures, and churn metrics.
  • Monitor gross margins and profitability at both product and customer levels, identifying areas to improve efficiency and drive revenue growth.
  • Develop and manage key financial and operational KPIs across the business, ensuring leadership has visibility into critical performance metrics.
  • Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for various business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Management Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent with 2-4 years post-qualification experience, preferably in a commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering role.
  • Experience within a SaaS, B2B, or high-growth startup environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into meaningful business insights.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Excellent business partnering skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across functions.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue models, unit economics, and profitability analysis in a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., Xero) and the ability to integrate financial systems with broader business software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
