Registered Children's Home Manager Opportunity in Shrewsbury

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to join our team at Opus People Solutions in Shrewsbury, England.

As a Registered Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an EBD children's residential home, ensuring that each child receives the highest quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement care plans for each young person, assigning Key Workers to implement these plans.
  • Uphold high care standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Develop quality assurance measures and seek young people's feedback.
  • Work with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure young people's welfare.
  • Participate in child care planning and review meetings.
  • Recruit, induct, and supervise staff, providing development plans and fostering communication.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of BESD children and managing challenging behavior.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children.
  • Effective planning, organizing, and resource allocation skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with children in the past 5 years, including at least 1 year in a supervisory/senior position in residential care.
  • Ability to motivate and support staff.
  • NVQ 4 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in children's residential care.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary of up to around £55,000 - negotiable depending on experience.
  • Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
