Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our District Nursing team as a Team Leader. This is an exceptional opportunity for a nurse with leadership experience to join our innovative and supportive team delivering outstanding care to the communities of Oxfordshire.

Main Duties of the Job

As a District Nurse Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in their own homes. You will work autonomously, using your skills and experience to problem-solve and make decisions in a variety of clinical situations. You will also be responsible for supporting the development of your team members and contributing to the development of the service.

Your Skills and Experience

We welcome applications from experienced nurse leaders working in care homes, community hospitals, private hospitals, practice nursing or the acute sector. You will have a proven track record of leadership experience and be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team and make decisions in a variety of clinical situations.

How We Will Support You to Develop

In return, we will support your career progression through a District Nursing career progression framework, including advanced clinical practice and leadership training in this area. You will also receive regular 1:1 support and development and annual appraisal, regular group clinical supervision with your peers, and a comprehensive internal training programme around clinical competencies.

Working Patterns

The service currently operates 7 days a week between the core hours of 0800-1830. Shift patterns available are 0800-1600, 1030-1630 or 0800-1830.

Essential

  • Level 6 Study
  • RGN
  • Current NMC Registration

Desirable

  • DNISPQ
  • Frailty/Leadership Module
  • Level 7 Study

Experience

Essential

  • Formal management and/or leadership experience within healthcare OR Extensive clinical experience as a Registered Nurse within a District Nursing team and evidence of leadership responsibilities experience.
