About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Manager to join the Surgery Clinical Board as Deputy Director of Operations, at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

As a key member of the Surgery Clinical Board team, the post holder will provide support to the Clinical Board Director and the Director of Operations for the Clinical Board to provide strategic leadership to ensure the effective and efficient management of all services within the responsibility and accountability of the Clinical Board.

The post holder will have accountability to ensure effective operational management of all available resources; delivery of efficient services within the scope of the Clinical Board; responsibility and accountability for the provision of high-quality safe services in accordance with the approved strategic direction and policy of the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, and that financial and clinical governance processes and practices are of the highest order.

Main Responsibilities

The Deputy Director of Operations for Surgery Clinical Board is responsible for the effective strategic and operational management of Services ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services within the resources available.

The post reports to the Director of Operations and has a key role in providing business development support to the directorate.

The post holder will act on behalf of the Director of Operations and as a core member of the Surgery Clinical Board team in leading on performance delivery working with Directorates to ensure service priorities and targets are delivered in a timely way.
