Job Description

This is a leadership role within the regional neuropsychiatry service, providing expert clinical psychology services and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to individuals with acquired brain injury and complex mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will join the neuropsychiatric management and leadership team, working closely with the Psychology Head of Specialty and being part of the Directorate of Mental Health Services for Older People and Neuropsychiatry and the Psychology and Psychological Therapies Directorate.

Key responsibilities include leading all elements of clinical psychology within the regional neuropsychiatry service, providing direct clinical assessments and interventions, formulations, setting strategic direction, service development/improvement, working closely with multidisciplinary staff, supervision/consultancy, education and research/audit.

The post-holder will be responsible for collaborating and working alongside other leads and managers to ensure all services are of high quality and collaborating with the Psychology Head of Specialty.

Extensive and substantial knowledge and experience of applying psychology in complex medical settings is essential, as is direct clinical experience or demonstrable transferable skills in the application of clinical psychology within neuropsychiatry services and/or working with complex mental health issues, neurological/brain injury and damage.
