About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Executive Nurse Director to join our leadership team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of patient care in our organization.

In this pivotal role, you will lead and support the nursing and midwifery workforce, ensuring the highest standards of care while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic nursing and midwifery initiatives, promoting clinical excellence across all areas of the organization, and enhancing patient experience.

You will work closely with the Executive Nurse Director and other senior leaders to drive a culture of continuous improvement and foster professional growth for our nursing and midwifery teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic nursing and midwifery initiatives

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Educated to Masters Degree Level
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of the concept of Quality and Safety, effectiveness and evidence-based practice
  • High level knowledge of all current issues related to professional nursing and midwifery practice
  • In-depth specialist knowledge of nursing and midwifery, nurse management and staff management acquired through training and experience over an extended period
  • Good understanding of research and can demonstrate how research has influenced their practice
  • Detailed understanding of the provision of health services, National and local strategy in relation to development and service remodelling
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of clinical pathways
