Job Description

The role of Head of Public Appointments and Corporate Governance is a senior leadership position within HM Treasury. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of governance policies and procedures across the department, as well as providing strategic guidance on public appointments.

  • Leadership and Management: Provide inclusive and effective leadership to the Public Appointments and Corporate Governance Team, supporting line management of four DGs' private offices.
  • Public Appointments: Lead all aspects of the public appointments process to ensure effective completion in line with best practice, engaging with the Cabinet Office and Commissioner for Public Appointments.
  • Corporate Governance: Be responsible for the Corporate Governance team, ensuring effective departmental governance and operation of relevant boards and committees.
  • Team Leadership: Contribute to the overall leadership of the expanded Leadership & Governance team, developing the culture and ethos of the L&G team.
  • Campus Leadership: Play a key part in the corporate agenda of the Ministerial and Communications Group, contributing to the development of the wider Darlington Economic Campus.

About You

We are looking for an experienced leader with excellent communication skills, able to independently make sound judgements about a wide range of issues. Proven ability of leading a team and motivating large and diverse members is essential.
