Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing multiple monthly payrolls for 1500 employees, including starter, leaver, amendments, absence, overtime, statutory payments, and pensions.
  • Dealing with discrepancies and queries relating to payroll and resolving or escalating as appropriate.
  • Supporting the monthly financial accounting requirements of the business, including report generation, producing weekly/monthly payroll journals, reconciliations, etc.
  • Responsibility for the running of the Company Pension Schemes, with experience with NEST being essential.
  • Raising monthly and ad hoc payroll-related payments.
  • Recovering monthly adjustments and deductions.
  • Processing of company cars/P11D's and dealing with associated queries.
  • Completion of all company and year-end payroll processes.
  • Supporting any Payroll/HR projects as required.
  • Updating of payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Preparation of reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Gender pay gap reporting.
  • Managing sickness processes and all related payments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in Sage Payroll 50 and a thorough knowledge of pensions schemes and auto-enrolment, with experience working with NEST being an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with all MS Office programmes.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Great communication skills.
  • The ability to work alone and under pressure.
  • The ability to confidently meet monthly payroll targets.
  • Comfortable working closely with the Senior Management Team.
