Support Assistant for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Empowering Learning is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils aged 0-11 years who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Job Responsibilities:- Supporting children or adults with Autism Spectrum Condition in a school setting.
- Assisting with personal care if needed, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Engaging and supporting pupils to enhance their learning development and well-being.
- Supervising pupils' behavior to create a safe and inclusive environment.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to provide targeted support and interventions.
- Dedicated consultants with a wealth of experience in education recruitment.
- Competitive rates of pay (£25,000 - £35,000 per annum), dependent on experience.
- Term-time only working arrangements to balance work and life.
- A fast clearance process, most of which can be completed online for added convenience.

- Previous experience supporting children or young adults with ASD.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
- The ability to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behavior in a compassionate and patient manner.
- A valid DBS registration with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
