About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Educational Support Professional to join our dynamic team in Newham. As a Behaviour Intervention Assistant, you will work closely with students who face Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, supporting their emotional and behavioural development within the classroom environment.

You will help create a positive and safe learning atmosphere where students feel motivated and engaged. In this role, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them manage their emotions and improve their social skills.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, including one-to-one and small-group sessions.
  • Help create and maintain an inclusive, nurturing environment for students with SEMH challenges.
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning caused by SEMH issues.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment, following the school's safeguarding and behavioural guidelines.

Requirements

">
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or similar qualifications are preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Passion for supporting students with additional emotional and behavioural challenges.
