Support Staff for Children with Autism

We are recruiting a Support Staff member for children with Autism at a reputable school in the Berkshire area. The school values diversity and inclusion, creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Job Description:This role involves supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition, contributing to their development and well-being. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans, risk assessments, personal care, and therapy care programs.
- Cultivate relationships with families and external agencies to ensure seamless support.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition or willing to learn.
- Able to commit to working fixed days, full-time or part-time.
- Hold an NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- Have previous experience in residential support work, care, or support in schools.
- Be trained in Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling techniques.
- Have experience in developing independence in young people.
- Have experience in supporting social and emotional development.
- Possess a valid DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
Estimated salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on location and experience.
