We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner. As a Trainee EMHP, you will work under clinical supervision as part of a dynamic NHS mental health team in a creative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
- Help children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
- Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
- Work with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
As a Trainee EMHP, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of different age groups as well as families across the diverse population of Kent and Medway. You will be joining an existing and growing team of EMHPs in NELFT who already work across other parts of Kent and Medway.
Our team places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for individuals who have a degree qualification and have worked with children. Relevant mental health experience and a child development qualification are desirable.
We also require individuals who have a commitment to the training course and working within children's mental health services. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are also desirable.
