Job Title: Senior Waiting List Co-ordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Waiting List Co-ordinator to join our surgery admissions team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department, actively managing administrative processes to facilitate patients' timely and equitable access to surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Waiting List Management: Coordinate patient waiting lists efficiently and effectively, ensuring accurate maintenance of waiting list information and allocation of admission dates within Trust waiting time standards.
  2. Administrative Support: Provide a full administrative function for the inpatient service, ensuring patients are notified of admission and pre-admission dates within agreed waiting list targets.
  3. Data Entry and Management: Enter all admissions data for surgery into the ORMIS system, including patient information, theatre details, and procedures.
  4. Booking and Scheduling: Use appropriate booking processes to facilitate patient admissions, adding, removing, and suspending patients from relevant waiting lists as required.
  5. Patient Communication: Communicate with parents/guardians, GPs, and external organisations regarding admission dates, addressing any barriers to understanding or communication difficulties.
  6. Waiting List Maintenance: Ensure accurate recording of patient information on Patient Administration and Theatre Systems, including checking and updating patient details, registering new patients, and allocating TCI dates.
  7. Team Collaboration: Assist the Admissions Manager, Operational Manager, and Service Managers in the administration and monitoring of waiting lists in accordance with Trust guidelines.
