Cancer Services Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cancer Services Pharmacist to join our team at Cpl UK - Healthcare. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to oncology patients.
Key Responsibilities- To provide a high-quality patient-focused aseptic service to patients in our trust and associated hospitals.
- To support section managers in the provision of aseptics and clinical trials services, ensuring they are flexible and responsive to patient needs.
- To provide mentorship and support to band 6 pharmacists and monitor their progress while on rotation to section.
- To ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
- To act as an authorized pharmacist and supervise the day-to-day preparation of products, and their release for use in compliance with national and local good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- To work closely with aseptic services technicians and senior pharmacy technicians to prioritize workload and day-to-day operation of SACT services.
- To ensure PASU is operating in accordance with current legislation and guidance, including good manufacturing practice (GMP), good clinical practice (GCP), good distribution practice (GDP), quality assurance of aseptic preparation services, RPSGB code of ethics, health and safety, medicines act, COSHH, and departmental procedures.
- To be fully aware of the processes used to accurately and consistently prepare, dispense, and release a wide range of aseptic products, including cytotoxics, epidurals, intrathecal, antibiotics, parenteral nutrition, high-risk injectables, and novel agents.
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Significant experience in aseptic, oncology, and/or haematology within a secondary care setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in cancer treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
