Job Overview

The Division of Surgery at BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and legislative compliance in our Nuclear Medicine service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a quality assurance program for all equipment in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Lead the department in ensuring legislative compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Play a key role in the administration of radionuclide therapies and supervise the training of junior staff.
  • Assist in the maintenance of documents within the department's quality management software.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • HCPC State Registered Clinical Scientist.
  • Specialist knowledge of Nuclear Medicine (minimum of 2 years post-registration experience).
  • Knowledge of UK legislation relating to the use of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials within a hospital environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Higher qualification.
  • Experience in carrying out research and development.

Applicant Requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
