Clinical Scientist

The Nuclear Medicine service at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine service, including quality assurance, radiopharmacy, research and development, and external contract work. The ideal candidate will have an MSc from an accredited centre and HCPC registration as a clinical scientist. Experience in Nuclear Medicine Physics is essential, and applicants should be in the process of applying for MPE status.

Main Duties
- To plan, organise and implement a quality assurance programme for all equipment in Nuclear Medicine.
- To play a lead role in ensuring the department maintains legislative compliance.
- To play a lead role in the administration of radionuclide therapies.
- To supervise and assist with the training of trainee clinical scientists, nurses, radiographers and technicians.
- To assist in the upload and maintenance of documents within the department's quality management software.
Education/Qualifications
Essential
- HCPC State Registered Clinical Scientist.
- Higher qualification
- Experience in carrying out research and development
Essential
- Specialist knowledge of Nuclear Medicine (Substantial post registration experience)
- Knowledge of UK legislation relating to the use of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials within a hospital environment.
- Teaching/ Training Experience
