About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic clinical scientist to join our friendly team in Nuclear Medicine at BHRUT NHS. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the service, including quality assurance, radiopharmacy, R&D, and external contract work. This role requires an MSc from an accredited centre and HCPC registration as a clinical scientist.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To plan, organise and implement a quality assurance programme for all equipment in Nuclear Medicine.
  2. To play a lead role in ensuring the department maintains legislative compliance.
  3. To play a lead role in the administration of radionuclide therapies.
  4. To supervise and assist with the training of trainee clinical scientists, nurses, radiographers and technicians.
  5. To assist in the upload and maintenance of documents within the department's quality management software.

Working with Our Organisation

We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs and offer a wide range of healthcare services, including emergency departments, outpatient services, and specialist neurosciences services. Our services are delivered from two main sites and several community hospitals, and we are committed to providing high-quality care to our patients.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, minimum of 2 years post-registration experience, and knowledge of UK legislation relating to the use of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials within a hospital environment. A higher qualification and teaching/training experience are desirable.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration, and this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020. A submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
