Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join our team in Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term contract offering stability and immediate start for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs, as well as experience working in secondary schools.

The estimated salary for this role is £26,000-£32,000 per annum, based on experience and location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs, promoting a safe and supportive environment
  • Assist in behaviour management and de-escalation of challenging situations
  • Provide academic assistance in Maths, English, and Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to deliver high-quality education

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in secondary schools, preferably with SEMH support or Youth Work background
  • Valid DBS registered on the update service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
