Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a large tertiary cancer centre as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology. The position is designed to offer comprehensive training in Gynaecological Oncology according to the ATSM in Gynaecological Oncology curriculum.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of inpatient and outpatient clinics, and will have the opportunity to work alongside the Gynaecological Oncology Team. The post includes responsibility for extensive surgical training, with up to 40 hours of theatre time available for the Gynaecological Oncology team per week.

About the Role

The Senior Clinical Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology will be based at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. The Trust provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

Person Specification

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Clinical training in Gynaecologic Oncology
  • Evidence of clinical or basic research in Gynaecological Oncology
  • Ability to make decisions at post MRCOG level

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the decision making processes and the scientific rationale for these decisions in Gynaecologic Oncology
  • Adequate surgical skills to cover basic gynaecological surgery
  • Knowledge of the principles of Gynaecological Oncology surgery
  • Sufficient leadership and organizational skills to interact with junior and seniors
