About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Medical Centre Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing administrative support to our Medical Centre during evenings.

As a Medical Centre Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring twenty-four-hour cover for students at our College. You will maintain accurate records, complete documentation tasks, and communicate effectively with parents, Boarding House staff, and Attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To receive hand-over from the trained Nurse at the start of each shift, including information about any students staying in the Medical Centre;
  • To maintain accurate records of baseline observations, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, identifying normal ranges and taking appropriate action when findings are outside these ranges;
  • To complete written and online documentation tasks, adhering to medication administration guidelines;
  • To inform parents, Boarding House, and Attendance if a student needs to stay overnight in the Medical Centre;
  • To undertake administrative ICT tasks, general housekeeping duties, and prepare student notes for surgeries;
  • To deal with telephone calls appropriately, liaising with Boarding House staff, SLT, and parents regarding medical attention from outside health professionals;
  • To prepare and serve meals to Medical Centre patients as required;
  • In the absence of students or stable patients, to take a rest period from 2330hrs - 0630hrs.
