About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Forensic Community Service team in West London NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work in a proactive assessment, liaison, and diversion service in two Police Custody Suites within the West London area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert assessment and intervention services to individuals in police custody, ensuring safe and effective risk management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with police officers, other healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address service gaps, promoting continuous improvement and service development.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in crisis work, risk assessment, and management, with a strong understanding of mental health legislation and policy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and best practice in community mental health provision and forensic psychiatry.

The salary for this role is £54,320 to £60,981 per annum, inclusive of all allowances.
