Job Title: Senior Lead Practitioner - Residential Childcare

Job Description:

Undisclosed seeks a dedicated Care Practitioner to provide safe and supportive environments for young people. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Support: Provide hands-on support to young people, fostering their development and independence.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the smooth operation of residential care facilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Safeguarding Culture: Maintain a culture of safeguarding practices, effective reporting systems, and prioritise child welfare.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of practitioners, providing induction, coaching, and effective supervision.
  • Quality Care: Uphold high-quality care standards in line with regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with parents, professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic well-being.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements and accurate reporting.
  • Inclusion and Diversity: Foster a diverse and inclusive environment promoting equality.
  • Care Planning: Participate in care planning and contribute to goal setting and achievements.
  • Key Worker: Act as a Key Worker for identified young people, overseeing their records and well-being.
  • Communication: Promote open communication within the team, ensuring a supportive work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Desirable Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in childcare-related field, NVQ Level 3 Diploma for Residential Care.
  • Skills: Strong communication, IT proficiency, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of disabilities, current legislation, care practices, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations.
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with disabilities and their families.
  • Commitment: Dedication to diversity and person-centred practice, as well as a satisfactory DBS check.
