Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curator (Collections) to join our team at Nationalmuseums. The successful candidate will be responsible for the acquisition, conservation, and interpretation of modern and contemporary Royal Navy collections.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategies for the acquisition and conservation of modern and contemporary Royal Navy collections.
  2. Work with colleagues to create engaging and informative exhibitions and displays that showcase the collections.
  3. Conduct research and provide expertise on the history and significance of the Royal Navy and its collections.
  4. Collaborate with external partners to develop and deliver heritage projects and initiatives.
  5. Manage and maintain the collections database and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  6. Develop and deliver training and educational programs for staff and external partners.
  7. Contribute to the development of the museum's collections policy and strategy.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong background in museum studies, collections management, and exhibition development. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
