Digital Asset Preservation Specialist

A leading company in the media sector is seeking an experienced Digital Asset Preservation Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's digital assets, ensuring their preservation and accessibility for future use.
The role will involve working with the company's digital collection management system, migrating data to a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, and enhancing existing metadata. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital preservation and digitisation, as well as experience in archive cataloguing and project management.
The successful candidate will work closely with the company's small team to develop the archives function, working in a unique environment with a varied and interesting collection. The role requires a proactive and business-facing approach, with the ability to drive new initiatives and work effectively in a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate data to the Digital Asset Management System (DAM).
- Manage daily tasks related to data organisation and archival processes, such as cataloguing and enhancement of existing metadata.
Requirements:
- Post-graduate qualification in Archives Administration, Archives and Records Management or Information Management and Preservation, or similar related degree.
- Relevant commercial experience, including an understanding of digital preservation and digitisation, experience of digital collection management and collection development, competence in archive cataloguing, and project management skills.
