**Collections Specialist**

**Location**:Belfast **(Newforge Lane)

**Salary**:£competitive plus the opportunity to earn a 10% annual bonus.

**Shift**:37 hours across Mon-Fri, currently 9 am-5 pm. **No weekend working**

**2 days working from the office and 3 days working from home, after training period**.

**Equipment**: You will be provided with a laptop, headset, monitor, keyboard, and mouse

Our Client, a major player in the energy market, have an exciting opportunity for a skilled **Collections Specialist** to join their award-winning team. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, the main objective of the Collections Specialist is to reduce arrears in line with target, improving company’s cash flow while at the same time ensuring all market Codes of Practice, Data Protection and in-house department procedures are followed. The role will involve incoming and outbound telephone calls, investigative work to locate debtors, working with third party agencies and reporting information when required to the Regulatory Department.

**Day-to-day, here’s what your new role would look like**:

- Working with customers to negotiate payments based on their ability to pay
- Supporting vulnerable customers in line with regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate a level of empathy, asking questions to help define and refine circumstances
- Communicating with customers via inbound and outbound calls, 9am-5pm
- Providing energy support and advice
- Responsible for completing work on time and achieving all personal / company targets
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns or questions
- Ensuring that all debt management activities adhere to Regulatory Codes of Practice

**Essential Criteria**
- A minimum of 1+ years Credit Control experience working directly with customers in a fast paced / target driven environment
- Strong resilience and adaptability
- Strong communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams and can manage multi-channel communications.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Relevant experience in a similar role i.e., with a Utility Provider
- Experience of working towards targets or KPIs or Targets
