About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our team at Kurt Geiger, a leading luxury footwear and accessories brand. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting our Buying Team in building seasonal product ranges across our brand portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Buying Team: Contribute to decisions on building seasonal product ranges across our brand portfolio.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Work alongside the Buying Team in the preparation of seasonal reviews and strategic seasonal planning.
  • Brand Development: Support and assist the Buying Team in defining customer, market, and trend-focused seasonal collections.
  • Market Awareness: Be aware of market movements, competitor activity, and current and forthcoming fashion trends.
  • Brand Partnerships: Actively research and propose new brand opportunities to optimize our existing portfolio and potentialize sales performance.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with host stores and brand partners.
  • Supply Chain Management: Have regular correspondence with suppliers in regards to order confirmations to ensure timely deliveries and be solution-oriented when issues occur.
  • Negotiations and Pricing: Support negotiations and work closely with brand partners to ensure prices and margins are accurate.
  • Inventory Management: Work proactively with merchandising to take appropriate action on in-season opportunities with repeats, cancellations, and rescheduling of orders.
  • Team Collaboration: Build cross-functional team relationships to confidently communicate information regarding deliveries, exclusives, product launches, etc., to the wider team.
  • Line Management: Management of the Buying Admin Assistant.
Requirements
  • Proven Track Record: Proven successful track record as an Assistant Buyer.
  • Educational Background: Educated to degree level.
  • Passion for Fashion: Passionate about fashion and an expert on upcoming trends.
  • Brand Relationships: Able to build brand relationships.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and have a good knowledge of financial measurements.
  • Personality Traits: Personable, confident, and self-motivated.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in Line Managing an Admin Assistant.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with a 'can-do' attitude and ability to show initiative.
  • Commercial Aptitude: Great attention to detail, with a commercial aptitude.
  • Pressure Management: The ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation and Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills.
