Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Director to join our London team and help grow and deliver our exciting orderbook. The successful candidate will complement our existing enthusiastic and dedicated ecology team, sharing our commitment to high quality science and motivated to help grow and develop our business as an equal partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Further development and delivery of our ecology services in London and the south east, working closely with LUC's Board Director for Ecology and other senior members of our London team.
  • Leading our existing team of enthusiastic ecologists and ornithologists, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their best work.
  • Development and implementation of operational and scientific best practice in relation to ecological survey and assessment and team management.
  • Delivery of a wide range of ecological consultancy projects, with full accountability for resourcing, delivery and financial performance.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in directing and managing complex ecological consultancy projects for a range of client types and sectors.
  • Strong understanding of ecological survey and assessment methods in the UK.
  • Good working knowledge of standard suite of MS Office tools.
  • An understanding of English nature conservation legislation and policy, as well as the English development management process.
Benefits

This is a full-time role based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with flexible working options available, including part-time hours. Directors' salaries exceed £67,500 (plus London allowance of £4,000), depending on experience.
