Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Ecologist to join our team within the transport and infrastructure sector. This is an exciting opportunity for you to shape your team's strategy and work on impactful projects such as biodiversity net gain assessments, bat surveys on historic bridges, and carbon-negative infrastructure development.

About the Role:
  • Develop and lead an expanding team of ecologists, ensuring high performance and strategic growth.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including habitat/species surveys, and produce detailed reports.
  • Deliver expert ecological advice and training to project teams and clients, effectively managing ecological risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with statutory authorities, build trusted relationships, and compile license applications and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive the implementation of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiatives and ecological services on various projects.
