Lead Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Ecologist to join our dynamic team in Southern and Central England. This permanent position offers a unique chance to shape your team and strategy from day one, working on impactful projects such as biodiversity net gain assessments, bat surveys on historic bridges, and carbon-negative infrastructure.

This role is perfect for someone looking to make a real difference in ecological management. As a Lead Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading and developing an expanding team of ecologists, ensuring high performance and strategic growth.

The salary for this position is approximately £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, and comes with comprehensive benefits and ongoing career development opportunities.

About the Role
  1. Leading and developing an expanding team of ecologists, ensuring high performance and strategic growth.
  2. Conducting and coordinating fieldwork, including habitat/species surveys, and producing detailed reports.
  3. Delivering expert ecological advice and training to project teams and clients, effectively managing ecological risks and opportunities.
  4. Engaging with statutory authorities, building trusted relationships, and compiling license applications and mitigation strategies.
  5. Driving the implementation of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiatives and ecological services on various projects.
