Job Overview

Job Description

The successful candidate will assist the practice clinical team in providing high-quality patient care, working under the supervision of the lead practice nurse and adhering to specific practice guidelines and protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • New patient health checks and assessments
  • ECG recording, phlebotomy, spirometry, and other clinical procedures
  • Chaperoning duties and processing laboratory samples
  • Sterilising and maintaining surgical equipment, vaccine storage, and cold chain management

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. Experience working with the general public and in a healthcare setting is essential.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:

  • Qualified to at least NVQ level 3
  • Immunisation and Vaccination accredited
  • Phlebotomy Accredited
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and email

Salary and Working Hours

This role offers a competitive salary of £24,500-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career advancement. The working hours are Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the practice. As part of the Ashford Clinical Providers scheme, you may also have opportunities to work during evenings and weekends.
