About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Ashford Medical Partnership. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient health checks, including new patient registrations and routine check-ups.
  • Conduct ECG recordings, phlebotomy, and spirometry tests as required.
  • Provide chaperoning services for patients during medical procedures.
  • Process and manage laboratory samples, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Maintain and sterilize surgical equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Assist with vaccine storage, monitoring, and recording, as well as restocking and stock rotation.
  • Clear and restock consulting rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
  • Assist with patient assessments and surveillance, identifying potential health concerns and referring patients to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Undertake specific clinical activities for named patients, as delegated and taught by healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to raising awareness of health and well-being, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
  • Assist with data collection and collation, providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

  • Qualified to at least NVQ level 3 in a relevant healthcare discipline.
  • Immunisation and Vaccination accredited.
  • Phlebotomy accredited.
  • Desirable: Spirometry training, ECG training, and Foot pulses/checks training.
  • Experience working with the general public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing competing priorities and working under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and email.
  • Smart, polite, and confident, with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
