Medical Education Well-being Leader

The Simon Fraser University School of Medicine is seeking an Associate Director of Learner Well-being to join our team. As a leader in medical education, we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for our learners.
About the RoleThis new role will shape and implement innovative well-being programs to empower learners pursuing medical education. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and strategic advocate for learner well-being and mental health, preferably through program delivery in medical or health-related education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing evidence-based policies and initiatives that promote inclusion, resilience, and balance.
- Managing the Learner Well-being unit and integrating broader institutional resources.
- BUILDING EMPLOYER-PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS WITH UNIVERSITY COLLABORATORS AND HEALTH PARTNERS TO DESIGN EFFECTIVE POLICIES.
We seek a candidate with a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Educational Leadership or a related field, and 5 years of experience developing, implementing and managing well-being or learner support programs.
Required skills include:
- Understanding of student development theories, mental health frameworks, well-being models and accreditation requirements for programming.
- Knowledge of learner rights regarding confidentiality, reporting, accommodations and concessions within academic and clinical settings.
As a valued member of our team, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
