Job Description

We are seeking an experienced School Welfare Officer to join our team at Remedy Education. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting health and well-being among students, contributing to the administration of first aid, and facilitating medical provision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the administration of first aid, health, and well-being initiatives for students
  • Promote health guidance, well-being advice, and other supportive strategies to students as necessary
  • FACilitate medical provision for students, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances
  • Supervise sick and injured students, contact parents as needed, and arrange hospitalisation or return home
  • Lead, monitor, and implement individual health care plans for students who require them
  • Administer medication, as agreed with parents and in accordance with the academy's health and safety policy
  • Work with individuals and groups of students on health-related issues through self-referral, drop-in sessions, peer training, and proactive work on sex education and health-related issues as directed by the Vice Principal, Behaviour and Inclusion
  • Offer confidential advice to students on health-related matters
  • Act as advocate/counsellor for students who seek medical help and support or whose need for medical interventions are recognised by others
  • Liaise with health agencies, social workers, and other outside agencies, as directed by the multi-agency team

Requirements and Salary

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience in an education or NHS environment, including the administration of first aid. The estimated salary for this role is £23,500-£29,500 per annum, depending on experience.
