As a Strategic Project Director at Gleeds, you will be responsible for managing projects, customer relationships, and leading teams to deliver high-quality services and meet client requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives by providing strategic project management and guidance.
  • Possitively engage with Customers and develop, grow, and maintain Customer relationships through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure that project management and/or programme management deliverables meet Clients' requirements.
  • Manage teams to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures and best practices.
  • Administrate contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent, or Project Manager, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Produce and present reports to Clients, highlighting project progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and coach employees to help them realize their full potential and achieve career growth.
  • Prepare bids for services, leveraging your expertise and knowledge to develop compelling proposals that meet Client needs.
  • Manage service delivery for profit, focusing on efficient resource allocation and effective cost management.
  • Advise Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen or might arise on projects, particularly those impacting on Gleeds' professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across Business Units' activities, fostering strong relationships with Clients and stakeholders.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Project Director who possesses:

  • Broad, in-depth project management and/or programme management experience post-qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of the industry, including factors affecting it, and construction methods and materials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent, and/or Project Manager.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts, including health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to motivate others and lead high-performance teams, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written, to engage with Clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Methodical approach to work, with attention to detail and ability to absorb complex information readily.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, financial, and numeracy skills to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Sound ICT skills, with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
