Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom National Grid Full time

At National Grid, we're at the forefront of the UK's transition to a net-zero energy future. As a leading operator of HVDC interconnectors, we connect the UK's energy system to its closest neighbours, enabling the import and export of energy. Our Planning team plays a critical role in ensuring operational performance, with a focus on health, safety, and environmental policies.

As an Energy Transition Coordinator, you'll support Operations in delivering safe systems of work, identifying mitigation actions, and reducing risks through systematic monitoring and checking of information. You'll take a forward-looking perspective when considering decision delivery, ensuring plans are in place to manage anticipated issues and consider contingency planning.

We're looking for individuals with 2 A-levels at grade A-C in Maths and a science or equivalent, as well as GCSEs in Maths and English Language grade 5 or higher. Must have or be working towards a full UK driving licence. Our Higher Apprenticeship Programmes offer a unique opportunity to gain insight into our working practices, understand what a career with us can offer, and receive great rewards and benefits.

In this role, you'll gain an Electrical Power Networks Engineer apprenticeship (Level 4), develop high-quality skills over three years, and enjoy a competitive salary of around £25,000-£30,000 per year, depending on location and experience. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities, and we're happy to discuss any adjustments you require.

Assessment centres will be held between January - April 2025. National Grid's Apprenticeship programme is open to all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria, including an existing and valid right to work in the UK. Note that we're unable to provide sponsorship if you require a visa for our apprenticeship programmes.
