At National Grid, we are committed to playing a crucial role in the UK's transition to a net zero energy future. As an HVDC interconnector operations specialist, you will be part of a team that operates high-voltage direct current (HVDC) interconnectors connecting the UK's energy system to its closest neighbours, enabling energy import and export.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about ensuring high operational performance and following health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Your key responsibilities will include supporting operations, identifying and mitigating risks, and taking a forward-looking perspective when considering decision delivery and project planning.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in Maths and science, with 2 A levels at grade A-C or equivalent. You will also require a GCSE in Maths and English Language grade 5 or higher, as well as a full UK driving licence.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes 26 days annual leave + statutory holidays, a competitive pension scheme, sharesave options, flexible benefits, and three years of high-quality personal development. We also offer an electrical power networks engineer apprenticeship (Level 4) and opportunities for career growth within our organisation.

The programme is designed to provide training at our facility in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, with regular travel required. The assessment centres will take place between January and April 2025.
