HVDC Interconnector Operations Specialist

National Grid plays a vital role in the UK's transition to a net zero energy future by operating HVDC interconnectors that connect the UK's energy system to its closest neighbours. As an HVDC interconnector operations specialist, you will support operations to ensure high operational performance, follow health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, identify and mitigate risks, and take a forward-looking perspective when considering decision delivery and project planning.

You will need to have a strong foundation in Maths and science, with 2 A levels at grade A-C or equivalent. You will also require a GCSE in Maths and English Language grade 5 or higher, as well as a full UK driving licence. In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.

We also offer an electrical power networks engineer apprenticeship (Level 4) and opportunities for career growth within our organisation.

The programme is designed to provide training at our facility in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, with regular travel required. The assessment centres will take place between January and April 2025.
