Job Title: Pig Stockperson



We are seeking a skilled Pig Stockperson to work on an outdoor farm in Victoria, Australia.



The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing pivotal leadership and support on a 5000-herd farm.



The farm is fully accredited by the Australian Pork Industry Quality Program and exceeds its standards in many areas.



As a Pig Stockperson, you will be responsible for:




  • Tending to routine husbandry of all stock
  • Caring for sick and injured stock
  • Moving, drafting, sorting, and weighing stock
  • Administering medications and vaccinations when required
  • Artificially inseminating stock
  • Feeding and caring for stock
  • Adhering to safety and biosecurity standards


For this role, we are looking for someone with:




  • A minimum of at least 3 years of experience in commercial pig farming
  • Machinery skills would be an advantage
  • A commitment to upholding the highest level of animal welfare
  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Physical fitness to undertake manual and repetitive tasks
  • Problem-solving skills, reliability, and flexibility
  • The desire to be part of a close-knit team


This is a great opportunity for someone from the UK on a working holiday visa to progress to a 482 visa.



The salary for this role is $24-$27 AUD per hour, depending on experience.



Accommodation can be arranged in shared housing with fellow workers, and you will share living and housing expenses.
