Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a member of our team, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension scheme, and generous annual leave.

Job Description

This 12-month fixed-term senior bioinformatician will provide focused bioinformatics expertise across research projects. Key responsibilities include proposing bioinformatic solutions, implementing tools and workflows, demonstrating entrepreneurship in identifying new data sources and analytical solutions, developing apps and tools for data integration, evaluating solutions, and exercising judgement to improve data management and workflow/tool development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in R/BioConductor, Linux OS, and shell scripting bash
  • Understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, or related discipline
  • Significant experience of independent research
  • Experience of building NGS pipelines and contributing towards the development of database systems using SQL or similar

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in bioinformatics, experience in bioinformatics related to TCR and/or antibody research, and knowledge of analysing single cell RNAseq data are highly desirable.

Education and Experience

Typically, we require a PhD in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or an MSc degree with extensive role-specific equivalent research or industrial experience.
