Design Manager

Edge Careers is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team in the Southern Water region. As a key member of our engineering function, you will be responsible for managing design teams and ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage design teams to deliver projects within the design delivery programme.
- Ensure adherence to CDM regulations and appoint necessary CDM personnel.
- Promote safety, environmental best practice, and sustainability through design.
- Develop and manage design plans and briefs.
- Collaborate with Estimators and Project Managers to produce and manage design and budget schedules.
- Implement change control processes to track and manage project changes.
- Lead internal and external design reviews.
- Develop relationships with Regional HSEQ team, Quality and Technical Assurance Manager, Communication team, Design Teams, Engineering Teams, and Regional Site Teams.
- Support supply chain selection for specialist input on design.
- Liaise with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and consultants on project issues, scope changes, and risks.
- Minimum 5 years design and management experience.
- Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and common data environments.
- Experience in design management of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, hydraulics, and MEICA.
- People management, time management, and project design management skills.
- Understanding of Temporary Works and associated roles and responsibilities.
