Pinnacle Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Design Manager to join their team based in St Albans. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a main contractor and will be able to manage two to three projects varying in value from £6 million to £15 million.
The successful candidate will have strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to interface with all disciplines within the business. They will also be able to procure and agree scopes for all design sub-consultants, coordinate the design from all aspects, and control design costs and measuring design within tender budgets.

The Design Manager will be responsible for challenging the designers and ensuring good value design, as well as using Microsoft Office suite, Asta programming, and CAD, True View, Revit, or BIM.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage two to three projects varying in value from £6 million to £15 million
- Project Management and leadership skills during the pre-construction and detailed design stages
- Experience working for a main contractor for 4+ years
- Interfacing with all the other disciplines within the business
- Challenging the designers and ensuring good value design
- Procuring and agreeing scopes for all design sub-consultants
- Coordinating the design from all aspects
- Controlling design costs and measuring design within tender budgets
Requirements
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Experience working for a main contractor for 4+ years
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, Asta programming, and CAD, True View, Revit, or BIM
