**Job Title:** Experienced Social Worker for Adults
We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team as a Complex Care Specialist. This role requires advanced skills in complex assessments, risk management, and support planning.
- Conducting thorough person-centred assessments and developing effective support plans is crucial for this position.
- You will work closely with carers and individuals to provide guidance and support in complex situations.
- A high level of organisational and time-management skills is required to maintain accurate and timely records.
- Gathering information to assess eligibility and needs is essential for this role.
- You will contribute to local knowledge of services and signpost/advocate for individuals as needed.
- Applying advanced skills in assessment, support planning, and risk management is vital for success in this position.
- Practicing in line with legal requirements, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Continuing Health Care guidance, is also essential.
- You will undertake Best Interests decision-making and chair Best Interests meetings when necessary.
- Providing advice and support to colleagues on legal, procedural, and practice requirements is also part of this role.
- Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns is a critical aspect of this position.
- Undertaking Investigating Officer and Investigating Manager roles may be required.
- Supervising junior staff and providing mentorship is an essential responsibility.
- Participating in Practice Education Professional Standards (PEPS) training and supervising student social workers is also expected.
- Representing the council in multi-disciplinary working and court proceedings may be necessary.
- You will ensure compliance with council policies and procedures at all times.
- Contributing to team effectiveness and service improvement is also an important aspect of this role.
- Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge is expected.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A proven track record of strengths-based social work with adults.
- Extensive knowledge of health and social care legislation, policies, and guidance.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- The ability to utilise Microsoft Office and electronic social care record software is necessary.
- You must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and commitment to high-quality service delivery.
- Collaboration with others is key to success in this role.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills are also required.
- Social Work England registration is mandatory.
- A post-graduate qualification in a relevant area is desirable.
**Salary:** £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
