We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team as a Deputy Ward Manager on Cedar's Ward, a 10-bedded unit caring for male older people with organic illnesses at Parklands House, Royal Oldham Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, undertaking the responsibilities of a Deputy Ward Manager, and supporting the Ward Manager in managing the care and treatment of patients and providing managerial support and leadership to junior staff.
Main DutiesThe post holder will be expected to:
- Deliver all aspects of care to the patient group on the ward
- Undertake the responsibilities required of a qualified nurse
- Support the Ward Manager in managing the care and treatment of older people on the inpatient unit
- Provide managerial support and leadership to a group of staff
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2 years post-qualification experience at Band 5 or above working with older people
- Ability to implement change
- Good leadership and operational management skills
The successful candidate will have:
- Ability to advise nursing and medical staff in best practice
- Facilitation of MDT training
- A knowledge and understanding of current Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act Legislation
The post holder will be expected to:
- Use a car or have access to a suitable means of transport to travel across the Trust footprint
- Able to work unsocial hours, including weekends, bank holidays, and night duty
