Commercial Plants Category Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Buying professional to lead our Plants category at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about plants and has a strong commercial acumen.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for owning, delivering, and optimising the buying and selling strategy for the Plants product area. This will involve achieving sales, volume market share, and cash profit targets while delivering a market-leading, best-in-class customer offer.
You will work cross-functionally with the supply base and Product Developers to develop a compelling customer offer and review the product range to identify opportunities for product quality improvement.
Requirements- A proven track record of driving business growth through strategic buying and selling strategies
- In-depth knowledge of trading dynamics and commercial acumen
- Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and category planning skills
- Ability to analyse financial, market, and customer data to inform decisions
Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd offers a competitive salary, ranging from £60,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including:
