About the Role

The Trainee Health and Safety Advisor role at VIVO Defence Services offers an opportunity to develop expertise in Health and Safety, contributing to the safe and sustainable operation of a critical estate. As part of the SHE team, you will be responsible for promoting a safety-first culture and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the SHE team to ensure compliance with H&S obligations.
  • Develop and implement effective safety systems and policies.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure compliance with VIVO and client processes.
  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date with best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Provide SHE training and present findings from investigations.
  • Assist in the development of safety and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

Candidates must have excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to motivate and coach teams, and a thorough understanding of workplace safety requirements and legal compliance. A full UK driving license and the ability to obtain SC clearance are mandatory, as is British nationality due to site requirements.

This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to recognize the financial implications of safety decisions. The Advisor must be approachable, reliable, and confident in raising safety concerns in accordance with VIVO processes.

About the Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
