Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant to support the English department at a client secondary school in Old Trafford. The successful candidate will work closely with the school's talented teaching staff to support students in key stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students requiring additional assistance with their English work.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities to small groups of students.
  • Mark and feedback students' work, providing constructive comments to aid their understanding.
  • Support students with their homework and revision, both individually and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff members to ensure the smooth running of the department.

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a teaching assistant or tutor in a secondary school setting. They should possess strong knowledge of the national curriculum for English language and literature at key stages 3 and 4, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position is ideal for graduates seeking experience prior to starting a PGCE in English.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
