About the Role

NHS Lothian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse/midwife to join our Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients requiring Genitourinary Medicine, HIV, Contraceptive, unplanned pregnancy, and gynaecological care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the care of patients with complex health needs, including those with HIV, STIs, and unplanned pregnancies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on contraceptive options and reproductive health.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • First-level registered nurse/midwife with current NMC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification in sexual and reproductive health (or willingness to undertake).
  • Minimum of two years post-registration experience, including some experience in sexual health or related area.
  • Non-judgmental, person-centered approach, ability to use initiative and work independently.
  • Effective communication skills, highly developed clinical consultation skills, and willingness to work unsocial hours and travel independently to local clinics throughout Lothian.
