Autism Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities: Work closely with the class teacher to create a positive learning experience tailored to the pupil's needs. Assist with implementing personalized education plans (EHCPs). Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development through structured and engaging activities. Collaborate with the school's SENCO, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
Requirements: Previous experience supporting children with Autism or other additional needs, ideally in a primary school setting. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively liaise with staff and families. Knowledge of strategies and resources to support SEN pupils, including sensory integration techniques.
