Leonardo SpA is seeking an experienced Sector Chief System Safety Specialist to lead our team of safety professionals in delivering complex products that are safe, secure, and highly reliable.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of analysing complex systems from a product safety and environmental impact management perspective, with the ability to scope and deliver high-quality outputs to time and cost against developed programmes of work.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the product safety and environmental impact of our sector's product portfolio, via implementation of the Leonardo Electronics UK Business Unit's Product Safety and Environmental Impact Management System (PSEIMS).

This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including Mission Critical and Flight Safety Involved systems, and the ability to provide independent safety management specialist input to adjacent sectors within the Line of Business.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering management and delivery of system and product safety activities across the sector
  • Provide independent safety management specialist input to adjacent sectors within the LoB
  • Ensure that data associated with sector product safety incidents in the Company corrective action management system is correct and up to date
  • Promote the specialism and safety culture within the business
  • Participate in internal and external standards working groups and with academic partners covering development standards and acceptable means of compliance
