Support Worker for Young Adult with ASD

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Disability North. The successful candidate will work closely with a 17-year-old young man who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and requires support with daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the young person with daily tasks, such as going out for drives, visiting the beach, and swimming
  • Provide close supervision to ensure the young person's safety and well-being
  • Introduce new hobbies and activities to support the young person's development and interests
  • Help the young person achieve their goals and provide opportunities for personal growth

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or similar complex needs
  • Ability to provide close supervision and support
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week in term time and 12 hours per week in holiday periods. The role will involve working with the young person in a variety of settings, including their home and community.
